The Graduating Class of 2000 came out in record numbers to celebrate their 20th in May now that they could have an in-person gathering. The weather was perfect 和 everyone enjoyed connecting with one another in the Old Residence Building 和 touring the grounds.

It was a pleasure to host the Graduating Class of 2012 in July as they celebrated their 10-year reunion! 女校友 had great fun seeing old friends 和 connecting with 校长, Ena Harrop. We hope to see you back on campus again soon!

I met with some alumnae from the Graduating Class of 1962 who had a stellar turnout of alumnae for their event. Many thanks to the reunion committee—Bunny Vagg ’62, Ina Guse ’62, Georgia MacAdams ’62, Natalie Erskine ’62 和 乔安娜·赫顿，1962年—for rallying your classmates! The event was hosted at Joanne Hutton’s home, 和 special attention was placed on every detail of décor, 包括一个CHS树! The ladies had a wonderful time laughing 和 chatting as though no time had passed.

Through the p和emic, lockdown, changing regulations alumnae did not disappoint! You showed up 和 helped out volunteering for virtual 和 in person events. Here are some stories 和 messages of gratitude for the over 200 alumnae volunteers who helped out this past year.

谢谢你！ Dr. 艾拉·迈尔斯-史密斯，98年 和 Jackie Law ' 13, for visiting CHS 和 speaking to the girls about your varied STEM careers! The students benefited tremendously 和 learned about two paths that STEM can take you on, from a career in ecology to software engineering for Google.

玛格丽特·莫蒂菲，1963年 visited Ms Uyen Ta’s Advanced AP Grade 11 French class to discuss her experience living in France for the past 50 years as an artist 和 raising her family. Mortifee Saby女士 shared some of her work 和 provided the students with tips on relocating to a new country. 谢谢你！ Margaret, for being generous with your time! The students certainly enjoyed hearing from you 和 asking questions en français. 女校友, if you would like to visit campus 和 share a skill with the class, please let us know!

祝贺 Amy Lo ' 93 for her work as lead engineer creating the sunshield for the James Webb Telescope. The sunshield is vital for keeping the telescope’s infrared-sensing instruments at subzero temperatures as they scan the universe for new stars 和 galaxies, 和 examine the atmosphere of alien worlds for possible signs of life.

祝贺 丽贝卡·马里诺，08年, who returned to Wimbledon to play for the second time in her tennis career! You might have seen Rebecca play in the Davis Cup this past April at the University of British Columbia, where she defeated Paula Ormaechea of Argentina 6-4 6-3.

祝贺你 Ambassador Aliya Mawani ’91, for being appointed as the Ambassador of Canada to the State of Kuwait! Ambassador Mawani’s appointment makes her the first Muslim woman to serve as a Canadian Ambassador abroad.

祝贺你 佩顿·托马斯11岁 for winning the International Literacy 协会 Award in the category of Young Adult Fiction for his debut novel, 现在双方. The New York Times called 现在双方 a young adult book to watch for, 和 the CBC 和 Globe 和 Mail named it one of the best young adult books of 2021.
 
祝贺 戴安娜·菲尔，50岁 for her encyclopedia knowledge in creating the weekly quiz for the Millstone Magazine for the past 10 years! Diana spent the lionshare of her career in broadcasting, working in senior positions at the CBC for decades. Unsure who was the first empire, or what Raku is?
